Madharasapattinam – From Rs.5Crores to Rs.20Crores

It’s so illogical about commencing a project at Rs.5Crores and later approaching yourproducers saying that ‘Sir it’s gonna costRs.15Crores to complete this project’. Oops! It was really shocking to hear that director Vijay had uttered these words that are more disgusting to hear. Let’s forget it as this is between producerand director.
Kalpathy Agoram’s previous film ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’ was made at a cost of Rs.12Crores and producers struggled to get a collection on half of it. Getting on to speak about the pre-release expectations, the musical score by G.V. Prakash isn’t being a great one on charts. According to the some of the officials in audio outlets, they have mentioned that the sales are pretty low when compared to other albums.
The public aren’t actually looking out for this film as they feel that period films have nothing much to impress them. Even the multiplex audiences may not like the film as it is a drama genre and very few may get over it.
When compared to the previous production’s sales at box office, the producers are now vividly planning to make a good show.

Salman Khan – The highest paid actor in 2010

Wanna know the salary of Salman Khan for his upcoming film that happens to be a remake of Telugu film ‘Ready’. Keep guessing and it’s far higher than any of the actors ruling in box office for the moment. It’s Rs.50Crores and the entire Bollywood is gone so surprised about it. The producersaren’t caring about paying such a big amount as they feel that Salman Khan has got a best global market. The film’s shooting has already started in the deep rooted forests of Colombo. Both Salman Khan and Asin have got severe security over there as president Raja Bakshi himself has offered them.
The film’s shooting will be completed within next 4 months and will have a grand release. It looks like, the film will have more reach than the Telugu and Tamil version as the brand Salman Khan himself would sell the film for a greater sum.

Big B in Ooty

Whatever maybe the situations: Big B ensures that he doesn’t disappoint anyone dependent on him. It’s worth mentioning that the actor was prone to illness and was under treatment in London. But accordingly to his word, the actor has flown all the way down to Ooty for shooting his first South Indian project with Mohan Lal. The film ‘Kandahar’ is being made simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam with Mohan Lal in lead roles.Amitabh Bachchan had earlier accepted to perform a cameo role in this film, in which he plays father’s role for one of the victims. Soon as director Major Ravi and Mohan Lal approached him regarding this project, they were amazed to hear him say that he’s ready to do this film without remuneration. In spite of his health factors, the actor has made his way to Ooty for shooting this film as it begins shortly over there. Sharing his experience about his Ooty, Amitabh Bachchan says, “Landed Coimbatore and driving up to Ooty. Doing this after ages.. Nostalgic.. So many movies shot here.. Family holidays with kids …”

After a long break, Madhubala is donning the greasepaint again. But this time as Madhoo Shah. The ‘Roja’ and ‘Gentleman’ actress is making a guest appearance in ‘Tell Me Oh Khuda’, a Hindi film produced by her aunt Hema Malini.
Also in the pipeline is another interesting project, in which she will be playing a young widow. “I will continue acting even as taking good care of my family members. My family is my first priority,” Madhoo Shah says.
On coming back to filmdom, she says, “I was initially reluctant to stand in front of the camera again as I knew shooting for movies would take one away from home. But some of the recent movies I watched changed my mind.”
Observing the industry has changed a lot, the actress says, “Things are no longer the same when compared to the time I made my debut. There would be lot of men on the sets earlier. But now, I could see many women working on different aspects of production. A welcome change no doubt.”

Jyothirmayi: Wait for weight

“It is better to wait for a good film than acting in four movies which don’t have enough significance to the role I play,” says Jyothirmayi, who is currently waiting for one such offer.
The actress from Kerala, who has acted in a handful of movies in Tamil, says, “I could never forget Kollywood. Tamil film industry gave me enough opportunities and was a main reason behind my growth.”
She adds: “I am not interested at committing films just for the sake of earning money. I want to do meaningful roles which would be welcomed by one and all. I would like to carve a niche for myself.”
The actress, who claims she rejected a couple of offers as they were controversial, adds: “There is no point in doing such movies to become popular overnight. I believe in the saying- slow and steady wins the race”.

Minissha Lamba to act in Tamil film

Hindi actress Minissha Lamba is to act in a Tamil film. Manisha Lamba had acted in many Hindi films including Bachna Ae Haseeno and Corporate. While speaking to the media she said,” I did my schooling inn Chennai.
I have studied in Sherwood Hall and Chettinad Vidhyashram School. I have roamed Chennai with my friends. I have seen lot of Tamil films. Lot of Tamil films with good stories are being released. Talented directors, cinematographers and actors are here. I am a slave to Vikram’s acting.
I also like the acting of Dhanush, Surya and Ajith. I am always in good characters in Hindi films. Now I have got the opportunity to act in two Tamil films. Since talks are going on, I will not be able to reveal the details of these films. There is no truth in the news that I am in love with a Tamil actor. I am in love with my acting alone.”

Anushka doesn't prefer Tamil films

Suriya’s latest movie ‘Singam’ is releasing in Telugu as 'Yamudu' on July 2. For the occasion the team met the media in Hyderabad. Suriya, Anushka, writer Sahithi and producer Gnanavel Raja took part in the event.
At the event Suriya thanked the Telugu audience for accepting him in Tollywood. He also said he is a great fan of Anushka and was very happy doing the film with her.
But Anushka was very open, candid and surprising.
She said she hasn’t seen the Tamil version 'Singam' yet even after 4 weeks of super run. But she had seen the Telugu and felt the dubbed version 'Yamudu' looked very original and she did not feel it is dubbed from Tamil any where. She also said her role was in the film was not just a glamour doll but with substance.
But what she said later is a revelation. Anushka said though she does films in Tamil her first preference undoubtedly is Telugu. ‘Singam’ was her third film and first hit in Tamil after ‘Rendu’ with Madhavan and ‘Vettaikkaran’ with Vijay.

For some time now there was confusion about who would direct Ajith’s 50th film.Earlier, Gowtham Menon was supposed to wield the megaphone for this film, which is produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions. Now we hear that Gowtham Menon has walked out of the film due to other projects. It’s not clear if they have dropped the project or if it is likely to happen in future. As far as the 50th film is concerned, Venkat Prabhu will direct it.
The film is tentatively titled ‘Mangaatha’ and will be a multi-starrer. Venkat Prabhu is currently holding talks with a Tollywood superstar for playing another lead role. Venkat Prabhu’s cousin Yuvan Shankar Raja willscore the music while Sakthi Saravanan is expected to handle the camera.

Jackie Chan to inaugurate Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’

What happens when a best meets worst? Here’s a big illustration that is likely to happen herein Chennai. Vijay’s previous films have been flunking down terribly at box office and he has decided to make powerful movies from now on. The first will be ‘Kavalkaran’ that in no way will be the same as his previous film and the next one if ‘Velayudham’.
The sources closer to producer Aascar Ravichandran have left a buzz that Hollywood superstar Jackie Chan will launch the film at Nehru Indoor Stadium. We aren’t sure about this fact as the actor may or may not attend the occasion.
Last time Aascar Ravichandran had nearly spent Rs 4.5Crores for audio launch of Kamal Haasan’s Dasavatharam. Since, there haven’t been any big releases from Vijay or Aascar Ravichandran; it looks like the plans maybe quite bigger this time.

Priyamani fed-up with onscreen rapes

Naturally, the actress should have got herself annoyed performing the same roles over and again. But guess what? Only such roles have been getting her good reviews and first it was Ameer’s ‘Paruthiveeran’ and now Manirathnam’s ‘Raavanan’.
In both the versions, she plays the role of a girl being assaulted in groups. In similarity, her culmination in ‘Paruthiveeran’ was the same and the actress is literally discombobulated with repeatedacts. She is vexed about the fact that she is being addressed as in a unique way. But what to do, the actress cannot ask for the entire delineation of her role in ‘Raavanan’.
The actress has decided not to get on for such roles in mere future.

But to her disappointment offers weren’t pouring the she would have wanted, Even the many offers that knocked her doors were either routine singing and dancing roles or small budget films with good roles. She didn’t want to do regular masala heroine any more. In today’s scenario she has a feeling that small budget films have to fight too many odds to get noticed and her performance may not get its due however great it is.
So Madhumitha decided to utilise her time productively and more importantly creatively. She started writing and it wasn’t a film script but her autobiography. She said she has put her thoughts and experiences in her life so far on paper and will soon release it in a published book.
