Nanban Vijay Movie, Shankar Nanban Movie Official Press Release

Putting all assumptions, premonitions and the ifs and buts over the Tamil remake of ‘3 Idiots’ the producers of the film Gemini Film Circuit has released a statement confirming their mega venture is titled ‘Nanban’, it will be directed by Shankar and star Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth in Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi roles respectively.

The jumbo endeavor will have popular Tollywood heroine Ileana playing Kareena Kappor in Tamil. Other pivotal roles are played by Sathyaraj and Sathyan. Director SJ Suryah, Actress Anuya and Ajay Rathinam will make special appearances.

Scenes involving Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Sathyan and SJ Suryah are being shot in Ooty for the next ten days. Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay will join the team from February 25 for his portions.

Other important credits in the technical side are: Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, Music by Harris Jayaraj, Lyrics by Na Muthukumar, Art by Muthuraj, Editing by Anthony, Dialogues by Shankar and Madan Karky.

Ambika might direct a Tamil film

Ambika is known as a hit heroine not only in Tamil films but also in other languages. Now she is taken the avatar of a director and is directing a Malayalam film.
An interview with her:
Why did you choose Malayalam film?
I will tell the reason when the time comes. I am directing a Malayalam film titled Annabella. My brother Suresh has written the story and screenplay. New faces are debuting in the lead roles. I have written the lyrics and dialogues apart from directing this film. Dr Ranjith is composing the music. The shooting of the film is going on in Kerala. The shooting of this film will be completed in few days.
Will you direct a film in Tamil?
You are asking me this after coming to know that I have become a director. There is a chance to direct a Tamil film this year.
How is your director experience?
It is really a thrilling experience. When I stood before the camera and acted for the first time, I was tensed and scared. I could see the same tension and fear in the faces of the new actors. All the nostalgic things in my acting life came to my mind. It was very interesting.
Have you quit acting?
Everybody has a desire and a dream. I had a dream that I should become a director. Now that has been fulfilled. I will not continue to direct films. Acting is my primary job. I want to always prove that Ambika is a talented actress. Now I am acting in many Malayalam and Tamil films. I am also conducting a programme called Mangaiyar Mandram in KTV.

Acting in Bala’s film gives us an experience of working in 10 films. I who had acted in more than 150 films have donned a get up that no one can expect. I am donning the role of Vishal’s mother.

Vettai to kick start in March

Arya is all set to kick off with his next film Vettai directed by Lingusamy. Right now he is shooting for Avan Ivan in Theni and Kuttralam. The actor will be completing the shoot by first week of February and will be moving to the sets of Urumi. Directed by Santhosh, Arya is doing a cameo role in the film and will be doing a two day shoot at Mangalore. Vettai is going to start off with the shoot in the month of March. The film also has Madhavan in the lead role. The project is delayed by one month as both the lead stars are busy with their prior accomplishments.
Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul are playing the role of female antagonists in the film. Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine movies is producing the film, while Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music.

Confusion of the Tamil Three Idiots comes to an end

The Hindi film Three Idiots was a super duper hit throughout India. Amir Khan, Madhavan and Salman Joshi were the three heroes of this film. This film is being remade in Tamil now. Gemini Film Circuit is producing the film which is being directed by Shankar. The film is titled Nanban. Initially there was news that Vijay will be donning the important role which Amir Khan did in the Hindi film. Later on there were news that Vijay has come out of the film and Surya will act in his place. Now there is confirmed news that Vijay has been signed to do the lead role. Now the confusion that who will do the lead role in Three Idiots has come to an end. Surya is not acting in this film. Srikanth and Jeeva will be sharing the screen with Vijay in this film. The shooting of this film has commenced in Ooty. Sathyaraj is also donning an important role in this film. Ileana is doing the female lead role while S J Suryah, Anuya and Ajay Rathnam are also in important roles. Vijay will join the shooting from February 25th.
The story of this film is about three engineering students who study together. After completing their studies, one among the three goes missing. The other two friends go in search of the missing friend. Whether they are able to find him or not is the rest of the story.
Manoj Paramahamsa is handling the camera while Harris Jayaraj composes music for the lyrics penned by Na Muthukumar. Shankar and Madan Korgy have penned the dialogues. Shankar has also penned the screenplay apart from directing the film. Anthony is in charge of editing.

Sameera Reddy purchases a new villa

Dusky beauty Sameera Reddy has purchased a new villa in Bandra, which is very close to her parents place. Sameera has turned herself as an interior designer and is busy in shopping. She is bringing all the decors, furniture and other articles from different countries. She says “I am very happy and excited by picking up all my things for my new villa from other countries.” Sameera also purchased a new car to match her new villa.
The actress has two projects on hand, one with Vishal, directed by Prabhu Deva and the other with Arya titled Vettai direted by Lingusamy.

Ajith lifts up 30kg Body Mount for Mankatha

Ajith’s Mankatha revolves around a gambling mafia functioning during the IPL cricket season .The cast and crew of Mankatha(incluiding Ajith, Arjun, Trisha, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai,Amala,Premji Amaren,Vaibhav and many others) are making all efforts to wrap up the movie as soon as possible. Almost 50 % of the movie is already completed with 3 major songs that include Ajith’s intro song shot earlier in Bangkok,another one where Ajith,Premji,Vaibhav and others are dancing to a kuthu song and a lovely duet between Ajith and Trisha both shot in Chennai.
There was a really interesting incident that took place while filming a major stunt sequence.
Reportedly Director Venkat Prabhu came up with the idea of Ajith carrying a 30 kg Body Mount Camera to get the feel of the shots and capture the minutest of details with every walk,turn and jump. While Ajith fans are well aware of the fact that the actor has undergone surgeries and keeps away from the risky business, Thala surprisingly decided to go ahead with Venkat’s suggestion this time. The shot was successfully completed and the rest of the Chennai shoots are expected to be completed this Monday after which the team heads straight to Mumbai.

Parthiban Goes to Mollywood

It’s been a high time for Kollywood actors in Malayalam film industry as they have been finding a great market in God’s own country. It all started with Sarath Kumar, who made a great show in ‘Pazhassi Raja’. Vijay to join 3 Idiots camp on Feb 7th

Finally, Vijay will be joining the 3 Idiots camp on February 7^th, 2011! Shankar and team are presently camping in Ooty where the 3 Idiots remake is being filmed and Vijay will join them early next month.
The film’s music director Harris Jayraj has scored a song already and this will be filmed on the lead pair Vijay and Ileana on his first day on the sets. After all the hype and hoopla and rumors surrounding the 3 Idiots remake, it is now certain that it is safely tucked under Vijay’s belt.
There was a lot of speculation on who would don the lead role in this remake, which was originally done by Aamir Khan in Hindi, with names like Vijay and Suriya hitting the spotlight. Finally, it fell into Vijay’s kitty!

Vikram-Vijay film in April

The forthcoming film of Vikram, which is being directed by ‘Madraspattinam’ fame Vijay, is slated for an April release. “Deivamagan is one of the titles we are considering, but a final decision is yet to be made,” the director says.

“We have decided to present the film to the audience as a bigger summer treat by releasing it in April. But producer Mohan will take the final call,” Vijay, who earlier directed ‘Kireedam’ and ‘Poi Solla Porom’, says.

Heaping laurels on Vikram, he says, “He is one of the finest actors we have. For each and every scene, he would come out with five different expressions, asking him to select one of them. Such a great artiste he is.”

Saying that Anushka and Amala Paul are very much part of the project, he says, “both have good roles and they are giving their best. The film is no remake of a Hollywood flick, as claimed by some people.”

Pooja quits films

She was one of the most promising among the actresses who were introduced in the last decade. She was one rare breed of good looks and great talent together. But it seems that the film industry has lost Pooja Umashankar to the corporate business world.

Ravi Rana is the Independent MLA from Badnera in Amravati district of the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Both the legislator and the actress are followers of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, it is said.

“In fact, Rana and Navneet met each other first time when the young politician organised a spiritual camp in Mumbai three years ago. What started as friendship became love slowly,” maintain sources.

Interestingly, Rana and Navneet would tie the knot at Amravati’s Science Core grounds with 2,834 other couples on February 2. The event is expected to create a world record for the largest mass marriage.

National award winning filmmaker Bala, who is busy giving final touches to his first comedy caper ‘Avan Ivan’, has said that his next movie would feature a newcomer in the lead role.

“My films always demanded an actor, and not a star. Even Vikram, Suriya, Arya and Vishal were like new faces when they came to me. My forthcoming film will sure have a debutant as the protagonist,” he said.

‘Avan Ivan’, which has Vishal and Arya in lead roles, is expected to be a straight contrast from Bala’s earlier ventures. Produced by Kalpathi Aghoram’s AGS Entertainment, the movie has been announced as an April release.

“I am indebted to each and everyone who are watching my movie, for they are spending two hours of their lives to see my film. My request to them is to judge my movies alone and not me,” added Bala.

'Padikadhavan' Sooraj Signs Vishal

Vishal is fast and aggressive on the course of making a big time in Kollywood now. Pokiri team back!

It seems they are back to create history again. We are talking about Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu and leading director Puri Jagannath. The two are planning to come together for another wholesome entertaining film after the record-breaking previous film of their team titled Pokiri. This new movie is expected to go on to floors from this May. RR Movie Makers are the producers of this mega budget movie. A few days ago, Puri Jagannath narrated the script to Mahesh Babu and the actor was quite impressed with the script and readily agreed to star in it.
As their pervious movie together, Pokiri, was a sensational hit, the expectations are high on this project. Pokiri was remade in Kollywood with Vijay as the lead star and was directed by Prabhu Deva.  Prabhu Deva went on to make the same movie in Bollywood too with Salman Khan which also was a blockbuster hit.

'Pazhassi Raja' Producer Promises Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan is going through good times now as the producers from various regional industries are coming forward to produce his movie. While Selvaraghavan-Kamal Haasan project has found a renowned producer from Telugu film industry, here comes another boon from God’s own country.

Gokulam Gopalan of Gokulam Films has produced various blockbusters including Mammooty-Sarath Kumar starrer ‘Pazhassi Raja’. The producer has now acquired the Kerala rights for Kamal Haasan’s ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ and is spinning some good profits.

During a media interaction that was held, Kamal Haasan expressed that he is very much fond of acting in Malayalam movies, but hasn’t found the right opportunity. Apparently, Gokulam Gopalan was there giving a surprise that he is ready to produce his film in Malayalam.

'3 Idiots' Tamil remake Shootings Starts In Ooty

Finally director Shankar started '3 Idiots' shooting today in Ooty, where Jeeva and Srikanth have taken part in the shooting. Shankar is planning to complete the scenes involve Jeeva and Srikanth by the end of the February.

Surya will be join the team by March 1st. As already reported Ileana is playing the female lead role. Sathya Raj is playing the role of a professor which wad played by Bomman Irani in the original version.

The title of the film will finalize and the official launch will made soon.

Velayutham Vijay Movie Release Date on Jun 22

Velayudham  is a forthcoming Tamil superhero film directed by M. Raja with Vijay and Genelia D'Souza whilst Hansika Motwani and Saranya Mohan portray other pivotal roles. The film was formally launched on July 15, 2010 with its photo shoots taken earlier during the month.Produced by V. Ravichandran's Aascar Films, the film is currently in its filming stage and expected to release on actor Vijay's 37th birthday (June 22, 2011).

Illayathapathy Vijay, lately who has been rumored to be entering in to politics has put up the though to rest and is involved completely in the shooting of Velayudham.

Vijay is shooting briskly for the movie with Genelia and Hansika Motwani which is said to be an inspiration of a Telugu movie Azad by Nagarjuna, which was released in the year 2000. Recently the movie has canned a love scene between Vijay and Hansika in the Chennai schedule inside sets.

Karthi’s performance in his recent release ‘Siruthai’, in which he performed dual role for the first time in his acting career, has won appreciation from his sister-in-law Jyothika.

“Anni said long back that she would watch the film on the first day itself since I am playing a police officer. Sticking to her words, she watched ‘Siruthai’ on the very first day,” Karthi says.

“She thoroughly enjoyed the movie,” the actor says and adds: “She sent me congratulatory messages through mobile even before the show got over. I am overwhelmed.”

Actor Vijay says that he would concentrate more in producing films with good messages for society. In his recent interview the actor confirmed his interest in entering politics.

Shweta ready for skin show

Remember Shweta, the pretty girl who played actor Ajith’s younger sister in the film ‘Aazhwar’, remembered best for Ajith’s weird costumes resembling a Hindu God while taking revenge on his enemies? Shweta, who had been in the wilderness for some time, has now bounced back well and truly in Tamil films hopping to cement her status in Kollywood.

A ramp-model prior to act in films, Shweta didn’t get many film offers after ‘sister’ act in the dud ‘Aazhwar’. Not losing heart, she acted in ‘Valluvan Vasuki’ as the female lead which again didn’t do well unfortunately but at least won her critical acclaim for the portrayal of her role in the film.

Not wanting to waste time and badly in need of some quick bucks, Shweta moved on to Tollywood where she debuted as heroine in a film opposite Jayanth, son of veteran Tamil and Telugu actor Banuchander. Making a comeback of sorts in Kollywood now, she has a handful of projects in Tamil and is quite happy about the same.

“I play the lead role in the film ‘Koottanjoru’ opposite Ajay Kumar. The film is being directed by Anbu Saravanan. I also play Arvind Krishnan’s heroine in a film titled ‘Naanum En Kaadhalum’ besides essaying the role of a village belle in Manisekar’s ‘Kalluppatti’.

‘Acting glamourously and appearing in figure-hugging costumes is part of the acting process and I would ‘expose’ according to the needs of the script,” says Shweta.

Suriya out, Vijay in for ‘3 Idiots’

Vijay had previously walked out of Shankar’s academy of Idiots due to some creative differences and now he is back as confirmed by the confidential sources. There was some surprising news on airs that Suriya is replacing Vijay and the shoot was to begin by first week of March after the completion of ‘Ezham Arivu’.

But again, the creative difference between Shankar and Suriya seems to have popped up resulting in abrupt conclusion. Vijay is busy now shooting for the film ‘Velayudham’ and will soon schedule dates for the project.

Meanwhile, Shankar is planning to shoot the portions involving Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana and Sathyaraj in Ooty by next week followed by a long schedule in Dehradun.

Karthika says that she will act in glamour roles

Yesteryear actress Radha’s daughter Karthika is debuted as heroine through the Tamil film Ko.
Karthika while speaking said," My mother Radha is my role model. I have watched her films in DVDs. I have also seen her acting in the song sequences. My first film in Tamil is Ko. I am donning the role of a journalist. I am doing the role which my mother has not done. There is nothing wrong in glamour. As far as I am concerned glamour is not in wearing costumes. It is not in wearing swim suits. It depends on the character’s style and acting. 
After seeing the trailer of Ko many told me that I have acted glamorously in it. But in the most of the scenes, I have acted wearing saree and churidhar. "

Shreya says that there is lots of awareness among the audience

Actress Shreya says that the audiences are not ignorant and hence she will act in the films that have logic. She also added that though it is cinema, it should have logic. Shreya, who was once most wanted actress in Kodambakkam is now yearning for offers.
Shreya who now wants to give a hit film is giving importance to stories. She is making the directors to narrate the full story. She is keen in avoiding contradictory stories without logic. She says." Now the audience will not accept the films without logic. I will act in films which will have logic. Tell me a story like Mozhi. I will act free of cot. So far I have acted for money. Now there is no need for money. Now I should earn a good name."
This will be a sad news for Shreya’s fans.
