‘I don’t call myself the Black MGR’

Vijayakanth has sprung a surprise by making a special appearance in the soon to be released Engal Aasan, something he has not done before. Engal Aasan will have Vikranth and Sudha in the lead with Captain doing a key role. He was asked a few questions on the recent developments in politics and films.
1. What percentage of Engal Aasan belongs to you?
I don’t believe in percentages, each character has been given the importance that the script demands.2. What do you think about Rajnikanth’s statement on the Hogenakkal issue and the apology?
You must ask that question to people who were trying hard to project Rajini as the face of the protest3. On Chiranjeevi’s entry to politics, Jayalaltiha has commented that the disease that had captured Tamil Nadu has now infected Andhra Pradesh. What do you think?
If she thinks that people from the film industry are a disease, then she is an even more deadly disease.4. Will the dialogues of Engal Aasan have political overtones?
Nothing intended, but we have used the famous dialogue of a lion bringing down a wild elephant from MGR’s Aayirathil Oruvan.
5. You have been referred to as the Black MGR. Is the use of this dialogue an attempt to strengthen that perception?
I have never referred to myself as the Black MGR, it is my fans and well wishers who have done so.
