It all happened with the entry of Abhishek Bacchan that drifted a big gap between Mani Rathnam and Madhavan. Madhavan, the chocolate boy was introduced by Mani Rathnam in the film ‘Alaipaayudhae’ in 2000. Director Mani Rathnam just didn’t present him as a hero, but he holds the credit of delivering Maddy in different dimension continually in all his film. We are sure you could have spotted the difference between Madhavan’s performances from Alaipayudhe-Kannathil Mutthamittal-Aayudha Ezhuthu- Guru. Different characterizations won him the laurels. But as Abhishek Bacchan joined hands with Mani for the film Yuva (Hindi Version of Aayudha Ezhuthu) that happened to be the turning point in his career, he became so close with him. Well, Madhavan was supposed to don the lead role in Guru, but due to unknown reasons, the offer shifted to Abhishek Bacchan and he had to perform just a cameo role…
But, its so disastrous for Madhavan, since he is not offered even to perform guest role in Mani Rathnam forthcoming bi-lingual project…
