A bold film on water issue

Many Tamil films like ‘Thanneer Thanneer’, ‘Achamillai Achamillai’ and ‘Sivappa Malli’ focused on the problems faced on the water issue. But now a director makes a bold attempt to portray the plight of the farmers in the Cauvery delta and find a solution to the Cauvery issue via his film. Raja Mahesh who had worked as an assistant to the R Selvaraj in the film Uppu is directing this film titled Thambivudayan. This film is a story about a coolie who works in the area and finds a solution to this problem in the climax scene.
Shooting was extensively carried out in Soovakottai, Ariyanipettai and Thanjavur belts for 40 days. Aditya Anbu is a third year Visual Communication student at Loyola is doing the lead role while Manisha Chatterjee from Mumbai pairs with him. Nizhalgal Ravi, Lollu Sabha Jeeva and Veerasanthanam are all in the pivotal roles. Music is by newcomer Sarvan while Raja Mahesh himself has also written the lyrics for some songs. Raja Mahesh is also producing the film under his M Theatres banner. His next film will be on inflation which has become a syndrome in our nation.
