P. Suseela carved a niche for herself in the film industry over the past 57 years by singing about 40,000 songs in various languages. This versatile singer has recently started the P. Suseela Trust. Speaking to reporters about this Trust, the singer said that it would felicitate established singers every year with the P. Suseela National award and a cash
prize of Rs. 1 lakh. The first award from the Trust would go to S. Janaki, she added.
The singer said that the jury headed by veteran music director M.S. Viswanathan, has lyricist Vairamuthu, actress Jamuna and singer Balasaraswathy in the panel. The awards function will be held on November 13th in Hyderabad to coincide with P. Suseela’s birthday. S.P. Balasubramaniam will enthrall the guests during the function with his wonderful numbers.
