Veteran villain and character artiste M.N. Nambiar passed away recently in Chennai. While several of colleagues in the film industry have been showering rich tributes on the deceased soul, lyricist Vairamuthu had an important piece of information to share about Nambiar. The late actor once remarked that: “my wife is my maid as well as God.”
It is also well known news that Nambiar is an ardent devotee of Lord Ayyappan and had gone on a pilgrimage to the Ayyappan Temple in Kerala for over 60 years. This had earned him the Maha Guruswamy title. Interestingly, the late chief minister of Tamil Nadu, M.G. Ramachandran used to send him a garland every time he starts off for the pilgrimage.
