Pazhassi Raja, now a Ramzan release

An interesting period film, 'Pazhassi Raja' will now be a big summer release. But this is not confined only to Malayalam, in which it is originally being made, but will be an important release across the country, where it will be released in five languages. The film, starring Mammootty, Sarath Kumar, Padmapriya and Kanika, is the story of a patriot who stood up against unfair British policies in India a good fifty years before the famous Sepoy Mutiny. It tells the story of 'Pazhassi Raja' and his people’s warfare against imperialism. The movie is being directed by Hariharan, for a script penned by MT Vasudevan Nair. Originally, the movie was planned for August 15 release, but it now looks like the film will hit screens only on Ramzan.
