It’s neither SRK nor Aamir… its Prakash Raj!


While there were strong speculations that one of the Khans – Shah Rukh or Aamir – could bag the 55th National best actor award, it has been declared that south Indian actor Prakash Raj has bagged the award for his role in Kancheevaram. Incidentally, this Priyadarshan directed film has been adjudged the best film!
Aamir Khan’s Taare Zammen Par has bagged a few awards too. While the film was awarded the best family welfare award, Prasoon Joshi gets the best lyricist award and Shankar Mahadevan the best playback singer for the same film.
Adoor Gopalakrishnan, the ace Malayalam director has been selected as the best director for his film Naalu Punnungal. Kannada actress Uma Shri bags the best actress award for Gulabi Talkies.
