Preferential voting system for 2010 Oscars!

Do we remember that this year's Best Picture race at the Oscars will be among 10 nominees and not five? And now the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that a new voting system will be launched to determine the best picture winner for this year!
The academy President Tom Sherak said that instead of voting for just one picture that they feels is the best, members will indicate their second, third and further preferences as well. Actually the preferential voting system is reintroduced to the best picture category after 60 years.
As the members can choose their order of preference, rather than picking one outright winner, a film can be the first choice of majority of voters, but may possibly miss the top rank by another movie, that got more votes even though it is a second or third preference.
Sources said that the nominees for the 82nd Academy awards will be announced at the academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater on February 2nd of 2010, while the winners will be declared on March 7th.
