Vikram and Shreya who starred in the recently released Kandasamy spoke to the media. Director Susi Ganesan, Producer Kalaipuli Dhanu and Cinematographer Ekambaram also spoke.
Actor Vikram said,” The hero of the Kandasamy is Susi Ganesan; He selected a good story and wrote a racy screenplay and took it to the people and entertained them. If Raj Kapoor is for Bollywood it is Susi Ganesan here. Every film in which I act is a test for me. Most of my films take one or two years to complete. I am little nervous whenever my films are released. I would be worried if the film would be succeeding. I had prayed a lot for Kandasamy success. This film has earned Rs 37 crores throughout the world in its first week of release. Shriya is a wonderful actress. She is always energetic person. If she gets angry she will start singing and if she gets more angry she will start singing louder.”
Director Susi Ganesan,” I am friendly director. I am friendly with my producer and hero. I use to screen the scenes which I have shot to the producer. Many of the people was of the opinion that the film was lengthy. So I reduced the length by 20 minutes. This film had collected Rs 37 crores. In Tamil Nadu the film earned Rs 16 crores, in Andhra it earned Rs 8 crores, in Karnataka it earned Rs I crore, in Malaysia it made Rs 3 crore and in Europe, Canada, Australia, America, Dubai and Singapore it collected Rs 8 crores. So far no other film has collected so much. This film is running in 18 theatres in Chennai alone.”
Producer Dhanu said,” The film Kizhaku Seemaile which was produced by me cleared my debts. Kaka Kaka gave me a foundation. Now Kandasamy has built palaces for me. The success of this film is attributed to Director Susi Ganesan and Vikram. Both have worked very hard.”
