Songs Sans Beats – An Innovative Endeavor


The most frequented wonder can be a film without songs. But have you ever experienced songs unaccompanied by beats. Here’s ‘Thalamilla Raagam’ – a film that doesn’t carry instrumental beats on in any songs.‘Thalamilla Raagam’ marks the debut directorial of lyricist Yosi (written lyrics for yesteryear films James Bond, Guruvamma, Nayagan, Kadhalum Kattru Mara and Thiru Thiru). The film comprises of newcomers in lead roles while J.K. Riteesh and choreographer Ramji have a prominent role to perform.Director Yosi states that the story revolves around 4 youngsters heading for Chennai airport from Srirangam to take their flight for foreign countries. Their journey isn’t justly brimmed with fun, emotions and romance, but off revolutionary ideas. Do these youngsters make their way to abroad or not is what it forms crux of the story.Yosi himself has penned lyrics and turned them into melodies by offering chance to winners of various music based reality shows in satellite channels. The filmmaker boasts that it’s the first time in history of World Cinema that an entire album will not have single rhythmic beats for any songs.
