A R Rahman’s love for Tamil is known to everyone. The Mozart of Madras uttered a few words from the classical divine language at the Oscar stage and included a Tamil song in one of his Hollywood albums.
And now, the music maestro, who has been entrusted with the task of composing a theme song for the World Classical Tamil Conference by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, has completed composing a rough cut of the anthem.
Penned by Karunanidhi himself, the song has come out extraordinarily well, it is said. If reports are to be believed, the track was recently played to Karunanidhi. Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi and poet Vairamuthu too were reportedly present.
“This song will be to Tamil Nadu and Tamilians what Vande Mataram is to India. It is outstanding,” Vairamuthu has said. The song starts with the line “Pirappokkum Ella Uyirkkum” (birth is common to all), which is also the theme of the conference.
