Kalki to Contest for DMK

Who is Kalki? She is the heroine of the film Narthagi which is about transsexuals. The state of transsexuals is well known and they were recognized nowhere as part of society. Now, Kalaignar M Karunanidhi, as Chief Minister of the State, recently offered special privileges to the community.

Kalaignar M Karunanidhi has also announced April 15 as the day meant for transsexuals. Kalki, meanwhile, wanted to contest the elections and so went to the DMK headquarters to show her interests in joining politics and contesting in a constituency.
She has performed a lot of social service for the gay and transsexuals’ community. She has also understood that DMK is the only party which helps transsexuals to cause changes in their lives. Since she is from Pollachi, she wants to contest the coming Assembly elections from Pollachi but the decision of the DMK heads is awaited.
