Surya packs his bags to the US

With Vel’s shooting wrapped up and being readied for a Diwali release, Surya is ready for his dream role in Vaaranam Aayiram. This Gautham Menon film was stopped midway as Surya needed a complete transformation in the looks department, which he used to his advantage by doing Hari’s Vel meanwhile.
Gautham who had dabbled with Chennayil Oru Mazhaikaalam is now ready to continue VA from where he had left, having done all the groundwork for the remaining part of the shoot.

Surya, Divya, Sameera Reddy and the technical crew along with Gautham are traveling to the US, temporarily putting on hold the shooting of his Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam starring Trisha. The crew would be in the US on a three-week schedule and Gautham intends going ahead with the shooting in full throttle to facilitate its release in February 2008.

Trisha’s wish fulfilled

Some time back, Trisha expressed the wish that she be given an opportunity to act in films that would provide fodder for her acting abilities. Her wishes are to be fulfilled now.

Moser Baer and Prakashraj’s Duet Films are co-producing ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ directed by Radha Mohan. Trisha is Abhi and Naan in Prakashraj. They play daughter and father in the film.

Even though she acted in films with Prakashraj before, Trisha says this film is special for her. Khushboo refused to act as Trisha’s mom so Lakshmi Gopalaswamy will do the role instead. The shooting is happening now in Munnar. Like in ‘Mozhi,’ music is by Vidyasagar and lyrics by Vairamuthu.

For working in this film, Trisha has turned down offers opposite popular heroes. That’s because she considers this her dream film.

‘Abhiyum Naanum is my dream film!’……Trisha is back in Chennai after completing her schedule for a Telugu film with Ravi Teja. The actress had been visiting some of the beautiful locations of Pucket islands, the place known for its picturesque locations and unlimited night entertainments in Thailand and Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur for the past two weeks.

Now she is busy with her Tamil project Abhiyum Naanum produced by Prakash Raj on behalf of his Duet Movies in collaboration with Moser Baer. Trisha plays as the daughter of Prakash Raj in this Radha Mohan directed film. She has left today to Munnar to attend the shooting of Abhiyum Naanum. In Abhiyum Naanum, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy plays as the mother of Trisha. It may be recalled that actress Kushoo had rejected the role few days back for some reasons.

For the first time the actress is playing as the lover of a new boy in Abhiyum Naanum.

According to Trisha, it is not the face value, but the story value of Radha Mohan forced her to accept the film even without any question. “I’m proud to be part in Abhiyum Naanum and the film is a dream project in my career. I hope the film will reach new highs in Tamil Cinema…” Trisha Says.

The film is scheduled to release in February 2008.

Mozart of Asia - A.R.Rahman

‘Mozart of Asia,’ musician Allah Rakha Rahman has done everything from classical to reggae and now with Shekar Kapur’s ‘Elizabeth: the Golden Age’ awaiting release, where he pairs up with Hollywood actor Craig Armstrong, he is very excited. “It has been really a wonderful experience working with Craig. We traveled a lot in places like Glasgow…Remotely working with the guys in London,” says Rahman who was in the capital recently.
The singer-composer has his hands full with a lot of films, the latest being Ashutosh Gowarikers ‘Jodha Akbar’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Ashwariya Rai Bachchan. Jodha Akbar is a romantic story about a king falling in love with a princess and ARR has tried to keep the music contemporary so that it satisfies both critics and the music lovers. The music of the film is very much what is required for the film. It has celebration songs and quawallis.. Rahman, who composed the music of Subhash Ghei’s ‘Kisna’ is once again paring up with the director in his latest flick, ‘Yuvraaj’ which is a very challenging project. Practically A.R.R had a tough time composing the first two songs but now as those have been cracked he will be able to wrap it up quickly.

Shreya gets 50 lakhs for a weeks shoot

While Shivaji - The Boss was surely a windfall that did a lot for actress Shreya Saran’s career. It gave her low profile career a high profile boost. After Shivaji was an astounding success, she almost lost out to Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam when she asked for 70 lakhs, which was her new price after Shivaji’s success. She even went to extent of saying that she will wear a swimsuit if required but only if the role demands it.

Well while may say that she is pushing her luck, she has succeeded with one filmmaker. In Indiralogathil Na. Azhagappan, she is acting with Vadivelu. News about the two shooting for a dance in the movie was all over the media recently. Shreya apparently was paid 50 lakhs for her role in the film the shooting of which required only a week’s call sheet from her side.

Lets how long more she will last with such as high price.
