Actress Tamannaah to Act Opposite Saif Ali Khan

After a debut in Bollywood, Tamannaah came a successful round down south, with many super hits to her credit, especially in Tamil and Telugu. After a success rendezvous here, she has returned to Hindi once again, making it big in 'Himmatwala' along side Ajay Devgn and is currently working on the Sajid-Farhad project, with Akshay Kumar.
Now the latest on the heroine is that she has signed on the dotted line for a project tentatively titled 'Humshakal', in which she will be sharing the screen with Saif Ali Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, who are the male leads in the film. We hear that earlier Jacqueline Fernandez was about to be a part of the film, but later got opted out, due to personal reasons. Another buzz has it that the film is inspired by the early 80's comedy caper, 'Angoor'. Albeit, Tamannaah is very happy to be a part of this project.

Actress Jiah Khan Commits Suicide

Beautiful, young, talented, charming, simple and no more. Bollywood actress Jiah Khan was found dead in her Mumbai Juhu residence. She had allegedly committed suicide last night. She was 25. Though proper reason for the mishap has not yet been concluded, the actress' servant and watchman are interrogated on her death. Apparently, no suicide note was found. However, it was quite evident that she maintained a low profile in the society, and was undergoing personal trauma. But she was reported to be recouping and making plans to return to acting. Having been brought up in England, she recently shifted to a residence in Juhu to pursue her screen interests. She was in fact meeting filmmakers for new projects. About a fortnight ago, her last Tweet read " So sorry I have been off twitter! Took a bit of a break from twitter verse.. sometimes u need a sabbatical to recollect ur thoughts."  Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for post mortem.
The actress debuted along side Big B in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd' and has the fame credits of Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull' and Aamir Khan's 'Ghajini'. We at Indiaglitz, deeply mourn the sad demise of a beautiful actress.

SPB in Bollywood After 15 Years

Though his songs are timeless, this one is clocked. It has been a clear 15 years since SP Balasubramaniam has sung a song in Bollywood, and the long time dream is coming true with King Khan's 'Chennai Express'.
Music for the Sharukh Khan film is composed by Vishal Shekhar and 'Chennai Express' has its title song rendered in the peerless voice of SPB. The song was recorded in Raju Menon Studio, Chennai, and we hear that the track has come out really well. Directed by Rohit Shetty for Sharukh's Red Chillies, 'Chennai Express' stars SRK and Deepika Padukone in the lead, and many Kollywood big names. In the film, Deepika is portrayed to be a Tamil girl. The 'Chennai Express' team has a surprise in store, at the IPL finals, to be held in Kolkata.

Official Confirmation: Prabhu Deva-Salman for Wanted 2

This time, Salman Khan prefers a fresh script and not a remake. As soon as the news about 'Wanted 2' flashed from the production house of Boney Kapoor, the instant question that rose in every mind was whether it would be again a remake as Salman Khan's recent films have been mostly of that sort including 'Kick' (a remake of Ravi Teja's Telugu movie).

However, the closest source of Sallu Bhai revealed that the actor is keenly looking out for a fresh script and agreed to sign this project only on this condition.

The film will be directed by Prabhu Deva, who has witnessed a couple of blockbusters (Wanted and Rowdy Rathore), which again are a remake of South projects.

Actress Manisha Koirala hospitalized

Manisha Koirala, once the darling of cinema buffs across the country has been hospitalized since Wednesday. The 42 year old fell unconscious suddenly and was rushed to the h hospital. The doctors are giving her a thorough check up and it is expected that she will be released once the medical reports are out.

Manisha worked with Mani Ratnam for the super hit film, Bombay and Uyire. Shankar cast this Nepalese beauty in his blockbuster movie Indian opposite Kamal Haasan and later opposite Arjun in Mudhalvan. She was also Rajini’s heroine in Baba.

Recently the actress was seen in the Dhanush starrer, Maapillai which was a remake of a Rajini film of the same name. Manya as she is affectionately called played the domineering mother-in-law’s role. Behindwoods wishes her a speedy recovery.

2 Days to Diwali

Finally three days before Diwali, the films releasing in Tamil for the festival of lights has been firmed up.

They are Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thuppakki, STR’s Podaa Podi, Thangar Bachchan directed Ammavin Kaipesi and little known Kasi Kuppam. All these films have announced their release date with censor certificate and theatre listing.

Vijay’s Thuppakki Chengalpet distribution has been firmed up with market guru Aascar Ravichandran snapping the rights at a fancy price. Advance booking started in all theatres in Chengalpetu area from yesterday evening.
In Chennai city where bookings started from early morning on Friday, the response has been very good with most of the ‘plexes being sold out for the first two days.

STR’s Podaa Podi which got it‘s censor certificate late yesterday evening will start its advance booking from Sunday. Ammavin Kaipesi too has announced that their advance booking too starts from Sunday.

Meanwhile Shah Rukh Khan’s Diwali Dhamaka and Yash Raj Films tribute to their mentor and maker Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) is releasing in a dozen screens in Chennai city and suburbs.
The advance booking for the film has been very good.

Ajay Devgan’s Son of Sardaar too has got 9 screens in Chennai city with most of the multiplexes giving them small screens, as their priority is JTHJ.

Anushka to make Bollywood debut?

Preparations are going on at a frantic pace, for the Bollywood remake of Vaanam. The makers have roped in Krish to wield the directorial baton for the third time around and talks are in progress with the leading stars of the day to fill in Silambarasan’s and Bharath’s shoes.

It has been felt that it would be ideal if Anushka reprises the prostitute’s role in Hindi as well. She has been approached and everyone is hoping that she will green light the project. It remains to be seen whether Anushka will accept this unconventional debut vehicle bound for Bollywood. Keep watching this space for confirmation.

‘Dabaang’ Goes ‘Osthi’!

We had earlier told you that Simbu or STR is acting in the remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘Dabaang’ along with Richa Gangopadhyay. The roles were played in the original movie by Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. We had also told you about the puja for the film that was held this morning.

Well, meeting the media persons after the puja, the crew officially announced that the project is titled ‘Osthi.’ What more? Veteran actress Revathy will be playing Simbu’s mother in this movie and Jithan Ramesh and Nizhalgal Ravi will act in other key roles. The music will be tuned in by Thaman and Mani Raj is the art director for the flick.

STR and Anushka celebrate

Pleased with the reception that his latest outing Vaanam had got, Silambarasan had organized a success party for the cast and crew of Vaanam. The party took place at a popular hotel in Chennai a couple of days ago. Vaanam’s producer VTV Ganesh, distributor Dhayanidhi Alagiri, Anushka, Krish, Dharani and others were at this success bash.

Vaanam, the remake of Telugu flick Vedham, has turned out to be hit, according to Kollywood circles. This prompted STR to celebrate with his cast and crew.

Vaanam’s director Krish also has a special reason to celebrate as he is likely to go to Bollywood with this remake.

Is it Salman Khan and Nayan together?

Vijay starrer ‘Pokiri’ was a super hit down south and Salman Khan’s Hindi flick ‘Wanted’ was the remake of this Kollywood hit. Following this blockbuster, the ace hero requested ‘Wanted’s director, Prabhu Deva to consider a sequel with Salman.

Despite his projects down south, Prabhu Deva worked on a script for the sequel and it is expected to go on floor by the end of 2011.

However, what our birdies have to say might interest one and all. It is now said that, Prabhu Deva’s lady love, Nayantara will be paired up with Salman Khan in this sequel! This is on contrary to the speculation prevailing among Nayantara’s fans that she will quit acting after marrying Prabhu Deva, which is after he obtains his divorce this June.

Whether the South Indian beauty Nayantara shares screen space with Salman in ‘Wanted 2’ or not, we’ll have to wait to know…

Haripriya says no to Hindi

Sandalwood top actress Haripriya, who is making her presence felt in Tamil film industry too, has rejected an offer to act in a Bollywood movie, as her “focus is only on south Indian movies.”

“Because I would be forced to say no to at least four southern films had I accepted the Hindi offer,” says the ‘Vallakottai’ actress, who is now gearing up for the release of ‘Muran’.

On the ‘Cheran-Prasanna’ starrer, she says, “It is an intense story which deals about contradictions in human lives. And I am happy to say that I have a meaty role to perform in Muran.”

Hoping ‘Muran’ to be a turning point in her career, she says, “The film would sure take me to the audience in a big way.” Haripriya also claims she is currently part of three projects in Kannada.

Silambarasan trying for Sonakshi Sinha

It is now confirmed that director Dharani will direct the Tamil remake of the Hindi film Dabangg. Silambarasan will essay the role done by Salman Khan in the original version. There was a talk earlier that STR wanted Sonakshi Sinha, who played the heroine in Dabangg, to essay the role in Tamil too. When he approached the actress, she brushed aside the offer as she had Kamal Haasan’s Visawaroopam to concentrate on.
But with Viswaroopam not commencing as planned due to the Visa hassles that the team is facing, Sonakshi is contemplating on offering her dates for this remake, sources say.
Meanwhile, Silambarasan is busy concentrating in Poda Podi and the team is in Spain filming some important sequences.

'Rangeela 2' Is Ready to Roll

News updates about Imtiaz Ali's ‘Rockstar’ have been around from time to time now. Some weeks ago the director was in Kashmir along with music maestro A R Rahman to compose songs. It’s after long time Rahman has taken a Hindi project and its also first time that Ranbir Kapoor will have songs done by the Oscar-winning composer.

Now the latest buzz reveals that ‘Rockstar’ will have nearly 10 songs! Wow, isn’t it a treat for both Ranbir and Rahman fans?

According to sources, only one song is left to be shot, which Ranbir will be shooting next month with a live audience.

As told earlier, Ranbir had been quite thrilled to work with Rahman. In fact the B-town heartthrob used to visit Rahman’s recording sessions in Chennai studio, whenever he got time. It is said that these sessions were helping Ranbir to pick up the nuances of a singer, since he plays a rock star in the film. “He is very observant and likes to see how Rahman puts together the entire song and how the singer croons it. He is thoroughly enjoying being part of these music sessions," the sources had told.

The role that beckoned Sneha to Bollywood

Smiling beauty Sneha had been too busy in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films till date that she never agreed to do a Hindi film though opportunities came her way. But now the lady has agreed to try her luck in Bollywood.
Her debut will be with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. Sources in Kollywood say that Sneha is so happy to get an opportunity to share the screen space with Naseeruddin Shah and she decided to lap it up. In this film titled Mad Dad to be directed by Revathy Verma of June R fame, she will play Naseeruddin Shah's wife and mom to a grown up daughter to be played by Aysha Takia.

Deepika Says 'No' to A Rich London Party

In the proposal by a wealthy NRI family in London, Deepika was asked to perform on a 4 minute title track from Rohan Sippy’s ‘Dum Maaro Dum’. According to a source familiar with the matter, "It was supposed to be a private party with family members and friends only. Since Dippy's sporting an extremely sexy look in the song, they wanted her to wear the skimpy shorts and perform the same moves.

Vettai Mannan is going on floors today! Silambarasan has been raring to being this film but his commitments with Vaanam stalled Vettai Mannan’s commencement and progress. The actor is happy to begin this project and expects the shooting to progress smoothly. Other than Silambarasan, Jai will also play an important role in this film, which is to be directed by debutant Nelson. SS Chakravarthy is producing this film under his banner Nic Arts.

Tapsee goes to Bollywood

Here she goes to join the long list of South Indian actresses who have ended up signing a Bollywood film post their successful debuting in Tamil or Telugu. She appeared as the docile anglo-indian chic in Vetri Maaran’s ‘Aadukalam’ which brought her decent appreciation from the critics.

Now Tapsee, has revealed that she has signed the dotted line for David Dhavan’s upcoming project. Sources close to the Bollywood director have revealed that the film would be a present-day remake of the eighties film ‘Chasmee Badoor.’

Right from the word “go” Tapsee has won a spot in peoples hearts down South. Now the damsel is going the extra mile and dubbing in her own voice for projects that have her name. The Delhi-based actress, who has three Telugu films going for her at the moment, has reportedly revealed that she would not stop acting in South Indian films which have given her recognition. Tapsee’s next release will be in Telugu titled ‘Mr. Perfect’ where she will share screen space with Prabhas and Kajal Agarwal.

Tapsee who left many tongues wagging after being spotted partying with her then co star Manchu Manoj of 'Jhummandi Naadham' is getting her dictions right in Tamil and Telugu. There are also rumors doing the rounds that the young actress recently turned down an offer of Puri Jagannath titled ‘Buddha’ which sees Big B in the lead. Sneha goes to Bollywood

The latest passenger from Kollywood to get a ticket to Bollywood is Sneha. The smiling beauty of Tamil cinema has been roped in for an upcoming Hindi movie, to be directed by Revathy Varma.

Sneha will play Naseeruddin Shah’s wife in the film titled ‘Mad Dad’. Popular Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia will play her daughter. “It is a challenging role and I love being part of the film,” she says.

According to Revathy Varma, Sneha’s looks in the film will be in 1980s style. “Sneha is a talented actor. She can perform any role with ease. This is the reason behind selecting her for the role,” the director says.

Sneha, who was last seen in ‘Bhavani’, is currently acting in ‘Vidiyal’, ‘Ponnar Sankar’ and ‘Murattu Kaalai’ in Tamil. “She has given bulk dates to Mad Dad and is eager to shoot for her maiden Hindi film,” sources close to her say.
