Realms Of Multi-Starrers Trend In Kollywood

This isn’t something new to boast about. Almost every superstar in their earlier days has shared screen spaces together. Possibly, these films perpetually remain under spotlights for the substantial tales and powerful characterizations of those actors.Be it Hindi Film Industry’s ‘Sholay’ (Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra) and Tamil film industry’s ‘Ninaithale Inikkum’ (Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan). Off the late, the following cohorts followed by the same trend in tinsel town.‘Ilayathalapathy’ Vijay and stylish icon Ajith Kumar were offered to perform lead roles in Manirathnam’s production ‘Nerukku Naer’ directed by Vasanth. At the last moment, Surya replaced Ajith Kumar thereby making his onscreen debut. The same duo combo came back with a big gold strike in family entertainer ‘Friends’.Similarly, Amitabh Bachchan’s home production ‘Ullasam’ featured Ajith Kumar and Vikram in lead role. Years later, director Bala roped in Vikram and Surya together in his magnum opus ‘Pithamagan’. And now, we’ve the same moviemaker signing Aarya and Vishal in his upcoming film ‘Avan Ivan’. Of course, Aarya has been favoring multi-starrer projects as most of his films have been off that sort. Be his debut film ‘Ullam Ketkume’ with Shaam or the following film ‘Pattiyal’ with Bharath: he carved a niche for himself with his role in spite of being a part of double-hero subjects.Actor Madhavan strongly believes in the mantra of success with multi-starrer films. Indeed, this has paved him a big ticket in Bollywood. It has been completely illustrious with his ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Teen Patti’, in which he shares screen space with Ben Kingsley and Amitabh Bachchan.Let’s hope the young stars keep striving on similar motifs of promoting double or multi-starrer projects, which would manifestly result in big changeover from existing patterns of films.

Chat with actor Dhanush

Dhanush who is busy acting in the film Mappillai gave a mini interview to the media:
What happened to Malai Nerathu Mayakkam?
We started this film as a comedy film. The shooting of the film took place for 10 days. But due to some reasons this film was postponed. Now we are planning to change the story a little bit.

It seems you are not working for your dad?
My brother and I are in this field only because of my father only. Our father has given us a lot of freedom. After completing my present commitments I will act in my father’s film either this year or next year.
It seems Trisha has refused to act with you?
When she was acting with me in Aadukalam, she got the opportunity to act in a Hindi film. Because of this she quit this film. We also understood her plight and allowed her to go.
About director Mithran Jawahar?
He gave a hit film Yaaradi Nee Mohini for our production house. It is very easy to work with him. Because of this we joined once again in the film Kutty. We are also once again joining in our next film.
It seems there is a good reception for you in Telugu film industry?
It is not so. Audiences there know very little about me. They know me because some of my Tamil films are being dubbed in Telugu. There is no good market for me there.
Will you continue to sing?
My wife and I never expected that the song we sung for Aayirathil Oruvan would be such a hit. My brother made me to sing because he wanted a drunkard voice who would sing badly. I sang this song without any expectations. I am not interested in singing. Because of this I will not risk singing in my films.
Will you act with Simbhu?
The story, producer and director should be there as expected if I am to act with Simbhu. It is a rare thing for such a thing to happen. If at all happens I am ready to act with Simbhu.

I am also acting in a film titled Karappan Patti directed by Prabhu who is an assistant of director Shankar. I am donning dual roles in this film for the first time. This film pertains to two periods. The shooting of this film is to begin soon.
With regard to my vision about Tamil cinema, I wish to say that many innovative things are happening in Tamil cinema than other languages. Recently when I saw the film Aayirathil Oruvan in the theaters ,I was stunned.
I felt like congratulating the director if he happened to be there somewhere. The director has made this film on par with the Hollywood film Avatar. James Cameroon took 20 years to make this film while it took only few years to complete Aayirathil Oruvan. We should give our support to such films. Only this will pave way for better films.”

Movie Review: Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya

Movie Review: Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya
Banner: Escape Artists Motion Pictures, R.S. Infotainment
Production: Madhan, Ganesh Kumar, Jayaram
Direction: Gowtham Vasudev Menon
Star-casts: Silambarasan, Trisha, Uma Padmanabhan
Music: A.R. Rahman
Cinematography: Manoj Paramahamsa
Editing: Anthony
Problems created by lovers among themselves are one thing while problems created by others to these lovers are another thing. But what happens if both these takes place in a romance. Simbhu frequently asks,” Why should I love Jessie when there are so many other girls”. This question may be asked by many youngsters or their friends in real life. The amazing romance, confusions and the pain has been narrated in a beautiful way.
Simbhu dons the role of Karthik. He who completes engineering aspires to become an assistant film director. Simbhu goes as a tenant to a house whose owner is the father of the Malayalee girl Jessie. Trisha who dons the role of Jessie works in Infosys. Karthik seeing Jessie loses his heart to her. At one point he decides that his love will not work out and tries to at least try to become a friend of Jessie. This friendship ultimately turns out to be love. But Jessie gets scared and confused about her parents. She confuses Karthik also and finally deiced to settle with the person arranged by her family. Whether Karthi and Jessie reunite is the rest of the story to be seen on the silver screen.
Simbhu as Karthik is not a boy who can show tricks by hand. His maturity can be well seen in this film. Let it be when he falls in instant love with Jessie or the way he wanders to make his love a success are really captivating. In a scene he follows Jessie to KFC. When he comes near Jessie, she asks whether he was following her. He in turn says that she is following him. Jessie says her office is here. He in turn says that KFC is also here. He watches Jessie walking. When the salesman asks for order, Simbhu asks the bearer not to disturb him because he wants to watch her until he goes. He is almost the mouth piece of today youngsters. His voice modulation is really superb. He captivates the hearts of the audience when he speaks to Jessie about her saying that there is a girl in his heart. This film has taken Simbhu to another phase in his career.
Trisha is cute and exceptionally captured the hearts of the audience. Her mischievous look and her body language are really incredible. In some of the sequences it can visibly seen that there were stiff competition where Simbhu and Trisha are in dialogues in the climax sequences. The dialogues in the film are very realistic and Gowtham has given Simbhu a good scope to bring out his hidden acting talents.
There is no need to speak much about A R Rahman’s music. The songs of this film have already become popular. The lead guitar right from the beginning journeys throughout the film with us. The songs Omana Penne and Hosanna are fantastic. Rahman has once again ruled his dynasty with elegance. It definitely makes one to hum the songs while coming out of the theatres.
There are no words to describe the camera work of Manoj. He had earlier shown his coolness in the film Eeram. He had excelled in this film.
On the whole Gowtham Vasudev Menon has given a cute and sweet musical romantic film.

I am in no hurry: Trisha

Trisha’s wait might have ended yesterday when ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ saw the light of the day. However, the actress says she is in no hurry to sign new projects and is choosy before signing on the dotted line.
"I would like to be very careful as my career is at an important phase now. I want to look at good scripts and concentrate only on a few films at a time. Number game is no more an issue," she says.
Saying there is space for every star based on their hard work and talent, Trisha says anyone aspiring to make it big in films can find their own niche in today's industry scenario, where talent is given utmost importance.
On 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya', she says, "The expectations made me nervous. However, I am happy about the feedback the film is getting now. Because, the script is all about romance with a refreshing treatment. It's a role I enjoyed to the full."

‘Azhagana Ponnuthan’ – A Remake Of Rathinirvedham

‘Azhagana Ponnuthan’ completely belongs to hottie Namitha as she seems to have been offered a substantively stronger role. It’s not just about skin shows and oomph factors, but the gorgeous actresses have a vital role to take on with. But now we hear that the film is completely inspired from yesteryear Malayalam classic – ‘Rathinirvedham’. This was directed by Bharathan with Padmarajan penning the script and featured Jayabharathi-Krishnacharan in lead roles.Director Thiru seems to have partially made some changes to the script and presented it in a completely new-fangled manner. But again, some sources reveal that unorthodox filmmaker Bharathan himself was inspired by Hollywood classic – ‘Summer of 42’. In all equivalence, the film’s teaser faintly resembles Giuseppe Tornatore’s ‘Malena’ that happens to be a mind-boggling classic in the history of world cinema…
