Ajith dismantles his Fan Clubs!

Though May 1 is known all over India for being Labour’s Day, fans across Tamil Nadu associate it with the birthday of actor Ajith. Come Sunday and ‘thala’ will be celebrating his 40th birthday. Just a couple of days ahead of his birthday the actor has opened his heart out for all his fans.

Here is what the actor had to say to his fans right ahead of his birthday:

Ajith started his acting career with ‘Amaravathi’ and ‘Mankatha,’ that is shortly scheduled for a release, will mark his 50th film in the industry. At this juncture the actor thanks the people who were with him; his co actors, actresses, his directors, technicians, his friends, fans and family who have been there as a source of constant support in this journey of his. But of late, there has been something that has been occupying Ajith’s mind and the actor felt this as the right time to unleash his thoughts to his fans.

Ajith claims that he has never used his fans as a tool for any personal gains nor has he used them as a shield for his likes and dislikes in the industry, and also would never use them for such purposes. The fans have the right to support him if his films do well and criticize him if his films don’t do so well. He has also revealed that he fully understands that people in his fan club as well as the others who don’t belong to his fan club enjoy his films equally, and there is no difference between the two as far as Ajith is concerned. Ajith has also made it very clear, time and again that no one’s family should suffer due to his working for the fan club.

But there are certain unpleasant things that have been happening recently in the fan club. At certain places there is rivalry being propagated, some people have begun to act individually without following orders passed by the general body, and some fans are not heeding to their rules; some people are also using the fan club for political purposes and all these acts have come down heavily upon the actor’s faith in the smooth running of his fan club.

So just a couple of days ahead of his birthday the actor has come up with a decision which might come a shock and surprise to many in the industry. Ajith has decided that the Ajith Fan Club which has been functioning under his name would be dissolved from May 1st. The actor is of view that to do good one needs a good heart. Not only that, the actor, through his note has also revealed that with the changing times the temperament of the people has also changed. They are very receptive to the things happening around them and only an actor who is genuine can be a star. Only such a star would earn dignity, a good name and fame from the people.

Ajith signs off saying that only that dignity and the support of his fans in this decision of his would be his best birthday gift.

Come on… Let us know if you support this decision taken by Ajith to dissolve his fan club!

Kamal to act in Traffic’s Remake?

‘Traffic’ was the first ever hit in 2011 in Malayalam. The movie recently celebrated its 111th day and Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan graced the event as the Chief Guest. The event was held at the Gokulam Convention Centre in Ernakulam where Kamal Haasan and director Lal Jose distributed the mementos to the entire crew and artists of the movie.
The movie is a brilliant one and had received great reviews and much critical acclaim from allover! It revolves around the lives of three men who get to know each during a traffic jam. Mollywood audiences are surprised and overjoyed at how Kamal had displayed his enthusiasm in this subject, as 'Traffic' was not just a trendsetter in Mollywood but also a commercial hit.
Speaking on the occasion, the star said that he will be working with the same crew and cast except for Rahman, as Kamal would like to play the character played by Rahman in the original version of the movie. Rahman played the role of ‘Superstar Siddharth’ in the Malayalam movie. The movie will revolve around the journey in transporting a heart of a dying person to somebody who is in need of the heart transplantation in a nearby town.
Looks like fans can look forward to this movie earlier than Kamal’s next project with Selvaraghavan!

‘Narthagi’ – Fighting to be heard

Of late the graph of Tamil cinema has taken a new dimension. More films are released which makes the audience sit up and think about various happenings around them. These days, audiences are opening up to accept newer themes belonging to varied genres. There is one more film going to be released shortly, which will be a forerunner for similar films to be released in future. For the first time ever, a film based on the life of a transgender will be released in Tamil.
The film is titled ‘Narthagi’ with Kalki playing the protagonist’s role. The film deals with the struggle a transgender has to face right from childhood through the adolescent years into adulthood and the many obstacles she comes across from the nearest of kin to the society and the outside world in general. It also distinctly portrays the subtle struggles a transgender copes up with like falling in love with someone belonging to the same gender, being ditched by loved ones and their struggle to be heard and respected in the society.
‘Narthagi’ is a film about a transgender who is a bharathanatyam dancer. Though the film is about a dancer it deals with the emotions of a transgender. The director vividly shows the hardships faced by the protagonist right from schooldays, lack of acceptance from the family when they come to know about the sexuality of their child, the problems faced by the protagonist after running away from home and finally accepting life as it is.
The film is directed by Vijay Padma. So will a woman be able to bring out the hardships faced by a transgender precisely?
Since women have a better hand dealing with the emotional quotient when compared to their stronger counterparts, the protagonist’s emotion has been beautifully brought out claims the lead star of the film, Kalki. ‘Narthagi’ passed the censor board’s table recently and was stamped a painful ‘A’. Kalki is quite upset with this ‘A’ but feels that irrespective of the certificate, the film will strike a chord in the minds of the people and give them a feel into the life and feelings of a transgender. Kalki feels that ‘Narthiagi’ will be a first of its kind film in world cinema scenario.
IndiaGlitz takes pleasure in bringing to you this project thereby lending its support in making the voice of a transgender heard loud and clear.
Click on below link to watch the interview of Kalki, the protagonist of the film ‘Narthagi’ and her views on various issues a transgender faces and more precisely about her film ‘Narthagi’!

Grand intro for Vijay in ‘Velayudham!’

Here are more interesting and never-revealed-before facts coming your way from ‘Velayudham’ as we promised last week. Vijay is helming the project with Genelia and Hansika Motwani as his heroines. Like all his other films this film too introduces the hero with a song.
The song, sources from the team reveal, has been made at a whooping budget of 2 crores. The song has been filmed from Thirumoorthi Hills. Dance choreographer Ashokraj, who choreographed intro songs for Vijay in ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokkiri,’ has choreographed this song too. The song spans the typical art forms of villages in Tamil Nadu like Mayilattam, Uyilattam, Kollattam and the likes with more than 200 performances performing unanimously.
The intro song also features around 150 international dancers performing international art forms. There are also models from Mumbai shaking a leg and Russian artists performing for this song. Vijay Antony is the music director of this film, and he has hit five tracks for this film’s album. A couple of songs have been filmed abroad. There are reports that ‘Velayudham’s music might hit stands on May 14th.
Almost eighty percent of the filming is complete with one song and the climax scene yet to be shot, say sources close to the director. The film also has around six stunt scenes were sparks are sure to fly. In all, ‘Velayudham’ seems like one masala film with all the right ingredients in the right proportion for a huge hit.

Prabhudeva hurries to marry Nayanthara

Producers are always delighted when directors finish their projects quickly and that is exactly why the producers of Vishal and Sameera Reddy’s untitled film are happy about. Director Prabhudeva seems to be quick as a wink in finishing the project. Recently, he wanted to shoot an item song with Sophie Choudary and Vishal in Europe but he was denied visa. Not wanting to waste time, he came up with an idea of making a brilliant setting in Binny mills and completed that shoot.
It is said that he has shot almost 90% of the movie already in areas near Hyderabad. The director wants to get over with his commitments by June so that he can marry Nayanthara in July without having to bother about other commitments. We sincerely hope all this hurry doesn’t affect the quality of the movie.

It seems that Amala Paul was the first option for the female lead role in Jeeva’s upcoming film ‘Rowthiram’. Since the actress became busy occupied with more projects, director Gokul had to lookout for other actresses and Shriya Charan bagged the offer.

The film’s shooting was completed before a very long time and plans were to release the film after ‘Ko’. With Jeeva striding on a perfect strategy, we are sure he’s sure to reach a greater position by end of 2011.

“The important reason behind many atrocities in the society is lack of anger among public. People become mute spectators for violent incidents. The film tries to find a solution to it,” the actor says.
“Gokul is a good story –teller and I was impressed with Rowthiram script when he narrated it to me. My co-star in the film Shriya Saran is a great performer and all these things will make ‘Rowthiram’ a treat to watch,” he adds.
On ‘Ko’, he says, “We all expected that the film would become a hit but such a grand opening is something stunning. Tamil audiences have once again proved that they would always support hardwork.”

Within a very short span of time, a mass number featuring around 2000 artists and few scenes were shot in Karaikudi.

Having strained themselves under the hot sun, the crew is working across the breezy locales of Pondicherry. But it’s Madhavan, who is having a hectic schedule running between places. Since, the actor had signed to be brand ambassador of various brands; he had to fly between several cities that includes Delhi and Chennai for the inauguration of branches.

When he approached the actress, she brushed aside the offer as she had Kamal Haasan’s Visawaroopam to concentrate on.
But with Viswaroopam not commencing as planned due to the Visa hassles that the team is facing, Sonakshi is contemplating on offering her dates for this remake, sources say.
Meanwhile, Silambarasan is busy concentrating in Poda Podi and the team is in Spain filming some important sequences.

Now the actor has a handful of films with top directors of the country from South India. Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram’s AGS Entertainment, the Prabhu Deva-directed movie will be released by Sun Pictures worldwide. All the songs composed by Harris Jayaraj have already been declared hits.
“I am thoroughly impressed with the story the moment Prabhu Deva narrated it to me. I always wanted to work with him and my longtime wish has come true with ‘Engeyum Kadhal’,” says Ravi.
Prabhu Deva is confident that the movie would appease Tamil masses. “It has everything a youngster would love to come and watch on screen. The songs by Harris Jayaraj will stay evergreen”, he says.

Vijay, the milkman

Vijay, needless to say, is a great admirer of Superstar Rajinkanth and has followed certain mannerisms of the top actor in some of his films. The Ilaya Thalapathi is now going a step ahead, one has to say.
If sources are to be believed, he is playing a milkman, a role made popular by Rajini in ‘Annamalai’, in ‘Velayudham’ directed by M Raja. “The story will suddenly shift from a village to the city,” sources say.
They add: “Though Vijay is doing a milkman’s role, it has no similarity to that of Rajini’s in ‘Annamalai’. It is a fresh one conceived by director Raja and the actor has given his best to it.”
Produced by Aascar V Ravichandran, ‘Velayudham’ has music by Vijay Antony. Genelia plays a television journalist while Hansika Motwani plays a village belle and both woo the Ilaya Thalapathi.

Shaam goes to Bollywood?

It’s going to be four in a row for Shaam. The actor, who had already done thrice the role of a police officer (in Tollywood’s ‘Kick’, its Tamil remake ‘Thillalangadi’ and its Kannada version), may now repeat the act in Hindi.
According to sources, Bollywood top star Salman Khan recently watched ‘Kick’ and was thoroughly impressed with the film. He wanted to redo it in Hindi and wants Shaam himself to do the tough cop role.
“It will be a perfect launchpad for me in Hindi if I get an opportunity to do the role. Also, it is not an easy thing to get a chance to work with an actor like Salman. Let’s see,” says an optimistic Shaam.
The actor, who started his journey in Kollywood with Jeeva’s ’12 B’, was considered to be a chocolate hero, till he landed up in ‘Kick’. Post the Ravi Teja starrer, he has become a hot property in Tollywood.
