Asin says that she will act in Tamil films if she gets a good story
Asin who got the Kalaimamani Award said.” I am very happy that I got this award. I have acted in a lot of Tamil films. The two Hindi films I had acted have done well at the box office.
My next film will be announced shortly. Many are asking me about the recent sensational news about me. I am a family bird. If there is no shooting I will spend my time with my dad and mum.
I don’t go for parties and pubs. Ever body knows about it. I am the same in Mumbai as I was in Chennai. So people need something to spread rumors about me. But I am not worried about these rumors.
I am concentrating on my acting. People are asking me whether I will act in Tamil films. Why shouldn’t I act in Tamil films? I will definitely act in Tamil film if I get good story and director.”
Sangeetha’s ‘yes’ for glamour
When asked Sangeetha whether she will do glamour roles, she said,” I am stamped as a glamour actress since I acted in films like Uyir and Dhanam. Since the characters of the film were such I had to act glamorously. I will not act in glamour roles if the story does not demand it. I also have not donned a glamour role in Nan Avan Illai Part 2. I am not one of the girls cheated by the hero.
But I don a different kind of role where I narrate why the girls are cheated. Apart from this I am currently acting in Telugu film Srimathi Kalyanam and Kutty Pisasu. In the both the films I am doinghomely roles. There is no truth in the news that I am avoiding films like Dhanam. Why should I avoid such roles? I am ready to act in such roles. But I am not getting such stories.”

Udhayathara while interacting with the media said,” Udhayathara means rising star. I am donning the role of a Sri Lankan Tamil girl in the film Vilai directed by Kamaraj. In this film Bharani and Saravanan who acted in Nadodigal are also acting with me. This film has different kind of story. The heroine is given more importance than the hero. That is why I agreed to act in this film. After this I am acting in the film titled Unnai Nan Arivein. Vijayakhanna is directing this film. Muhammad Ali is doing the lead role.In Bayam Ariyaan I have donned the role of a bubbly girl. The shooting of the film is over and the film is to hit the screens soon. I will definitely act in glamour roles if the story demands. Even in the film Kannum Kannum though I have donned the homely role, I have acted glamorously in the songsequences.”

Divya Spandana, who was popularly known as 'Kuthu' Ramya in Tamil cinema, has donated her eyes to a Bangalore-based eye hospital.
The actress signed a form expressing willingness to donate eyes at her birthday function held recently. She has also urged her fans to follow the suit and to create a world where there are no visually impaired.

Rahman’s tribute to TN Police
The latest from the camp of our Mozart of Madras is that he is composing music for a documentary of Tamil Nadu Police.
The Tamil Nadu police officials have made a special documentary as a tribute to the police department that has completed 150 dutiful years. This documentary film will be featuring every single development and building blocks of the department. The film will have the old style uniforms that the police wore during their early days to the recent technological growth and advanced equipments they have.
Sources say that the police department had requested A R Rahman to score music for their documentary even before the musician won the Academy Award and Golden Globe award. But unfortunately as Rahman became too busy he was not able to compose for the whole film. Anyways the music genius is composing for one song that sings the praise of the State’s Police.
Rahman who is in London will work on this after he comes back. Moreover the documentary will be released by the State’s CM M.Karunanidhi, they say.

Lakshmi Rai gifted a BMW car by her lover?
Lakshmi Rai has acquired an imported BMW car. Recently Ramba had also purchased a similar car. There were rumors that this car was gifted by her lover who is in Canada.
There is also news that both are getting married in Tirupathi on 27th of December. At this point Lakshmi Rai has also purchased a BMW car. She is currently acting in a Tamil film Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam. Her earlier films did not to well at the box office.

The prestigious Kalaimamani awards were presented to 72 artistes from various fields of art and culture at a ceremony held yesterday (28th Nov.) at Chennai. The function was presided by the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Kalaignar Karunanidhi. The Governor of Tamil Nadu, Surjit Singh Barnala was also present.The personalities who were presented with the honor belonged to various fields including music, drama, dance, fine arts, literature TV and cinema.The recipients from the cine field were director Cheran actors, Bharath, Sundar C, Vineeth, Pasupathi, Vaiyapuri, actresses Asin, Meera Jasmine, Nayanthara, Shobhana and veteran Saroja Devi. Composer Harris Jayaraj, art director Krishnamurthy, cinematographer R.D. Rajashekhar, Vedha Pudhidhu Kannan, still photographer Chithra Swaminathan and producer/exhibitor Abhirami Ramanathan were among the others awarded.However, Cheran, Nayanthara, Shobhana, Meera Jasmine and Saroja Devi were not present to receive the honor.

Actress Manorama in ICU
Actress Manorama was operated in the left knee. She was given anesthesia before the operation. But she did not wake up even till now though the operation was over.
Manorama was suffering from severe pain in her left knee in the recent times. She was given Ayurveda treatment in Kerala. But since she was not satisfied with the treatment she returned to Chennai and was admitted in a private nursing home.
She was operated in the left knee. She was given anesthesia before the operation. Since she has not recovered from the anesthesia she is being given treatment in the intensive care unit.
