Any guesses of what could be the latest trend that directors are following in Kollywood. Let’s take for instances the best directors of Tamil Cinema. Each of them are busy shooting for their recent ventures into the famous forests. Mani Rathnam’s bilingual project titled ‘Raavana’ in Hindi would be shot at thick forests of Madhya Pradesh while the Tamil version ‘Ashoka Vanam’ is being canned at dense forests in Chalakudi of Kerala. Meanwhile, the long awaited release of Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan has been shot across the thick forest alike regions of Pollachi. Almost the entire film seems to have been shot across the forest regions.
On the pars, Director Shankar the greatest globetrotter of Kollywood has found the best forest spots in this world. At present, having been completed shooting for a song in Peru, he has now fleeted along with his entire team to bulky forests of Amazon that is expected to be one of the best well known spot for its exotic location. One more song featuring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai would be shot there.
Earlier, only few films involving terrorists and dacoits were shot in the forest regions. For illustration, Arjun’s Jai Hind, a film based on Veerappan titled ‘Adharmam’ featuring Nasser and Murali in lead roles and one more similar subject in Hindi based on forest brigand ‘Jungle’ directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Apart from these films, most of those falling under the genre of horrors and thrillers were shot in the forest regions and again Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Darna Maana Hai’ has to be taken for exemplification…
