Tamil films face problems in Hyderabad

Tamil films being shot in Hyderabad have been facing a new problem of late. Hyderabad has become a hot destination for shooting films because of the limitations imposed by the Tamil Nadu government and the police in shooting in public places and roads during day time. Due to this, many Tamil films are being shot in Hyderabad where the laws are less
stringent. According to the Stuntmen Association in Hyderabad, the local stuntmen are affected by this as the Tamil film crews bring in their own stuntmen. They further insist that all Tamil films shooting stunt sequences in Hyderabad must employ about 30 per cent of the stuntmen in Andhra Pradesh. This has snowballed into a major issue and about ten Tamil films have been stalled, reports sources. Speaking about this, the South Indian Stunt Directors and Stuntmen Association President, Mr. Bhaskar, said that there is no such rule of including a number of persons in the stunt scenes. He also added that demand for including stuntmen from a particular region only because the film is being shot there is unfair. Bhaskar said that this issue will be discussed at the All-India Film Workers’ Association meeting on 16th September.
