Malaysian state honors for SRK irks locals

The Malaysian state Malacca has conferred the honorary title Datuk on Shah Rukh Khan. This was announced by Malacca's Chief Minister Mohamad Ali Rustam. According to the CM, SRK is being honored for shooting in Malacca for six of his film including the smash hit One Two ka Four. However, the
move was not welcomed by the locals and faces criticism from the opposition parties and people.
While the CM maintains that Malacca's popularity as a tourist destination soared high because of SRK's films, the locals say that local artistes must be given first preference.
