MGR mania still on

King may come, King may go. But the Kingdom stays forever. This adage sits well on yesteryear 'scene stealer' M G Ramachandran. The mass hero of Tamilnadu, who carved a niche for himself in Tamil cinema before assuming the mantle of Chief Minister Ship, still lives in the hearts of his fans. His legacy can never be eroded. At a time when young heroes have come and the industry has undergone several changes, his movies still drew huge audiences. To cash in on the opportunity, a couple of his yesteryear classics are getting re-released. Ulagam Suttrum Valiban, the yesteryear classic, directed and enacted by MGR is hitting the screens this week-end. A mega hit, the movie was shot in foreign locales. Also getting ready for release is his ‘Adimai Penn’. Says an avid fan of MGR,“We are thrilled to see MGR again. He is immortal. We relish every moment watching him on screen. His movies had everything to enthrall us immensely.”
