Samira Reddy says,” I am a great fan of Gowtham Menon. Though my role was small in Vaaranam Aayiram, I got lot of fans because of him. I love Gowtham Menon.”
Samira Reddy was a glamour doll in Bollywood but Gowtham Menon made her dress modestly in the film Vaaranam Aayiram and showed her as a beautiful angel. Because of this film, Samira Reddy had got a good name in Tamil cinema. Now again she is acting in Gowtham Menon’s film. The film is being produced by Gowtham Menon and is titled Nadunisi Naaigal. Samira Reddy eyes widen when she speaks about this film.
She said,” You will see a different Samira Reddy in this film. This film will create great thrill in the theatres. This film and I will be much spoken. I am not interested in glamour roles alone. I like to journey in everything.
Though my role in Vaaranam Aayiram was small I was able to earn lot of fans. But I was the heroine in Asal but many people did not like that. Now I will be choosy and act in selected films. I am a great fan of Gowtham Menon. It is a great gift for me to act once again in Gowtham Menon’s film. I love Gowtham Menon.
Both Asal and Vaaranam Aayiram had good stories. Above all I like Ajith and Gowtham Menon. That is why I agreed to act in these films. That doesn’t mean that I will act in the films directed by popular directors. I liked the Tamil film Kaaka Kaaka very much. So when Gowtham Menon called me to act in Vaaranam Aayiram, I was thrilled.”AR Rahman’s daughter Khadijah sings for Endhiran Pudiya Manidha

Suriya's 'Rattha Charithram’ for Diwali???
Suriya’s ticket to Bollywood may have its reach few months later from the time it was expected. Ram Gopal Varma during his media interaction in Chennai assured that the film will hit screens along with ‘Raktha Charithra – 2’ (Hindi and Telugu) by August.
Unfortunately, the release date of ‘RC-1’ has been postponed to September 17. Just as the producers had planned to release the second part at least after 3-4 weeks of time, it may gradually delay the release of Tamil version, which has Suriya in lead role.
The reason why the makers wanted to avoid first part in Tamil was due to the star-casts so uncommon and unfamiliar to Tamil film buffs in Chennai.
Now, it’s slightly implying that the Tamil version’s release may extend up to last week of October or precisely for Diwali, which means November 5.
Anyways, there haven’t been official confirmations from any ends and keep logging to this column for more updates.

Questions on Tamil 3 Idiots
Madhavan has officially declared what we have been saying for long. He has finally said he will not be doing 3 idiots in Tamil. He has tweeted “I am unfortunately UNABLE to do "3 Idiots" in Tamil and Telugu. Really sorry.”
So this raises more questions on the proposed casting. Though news were abuzz about Vijay, Madhavan and Simbu are going to be the 3 IDIOTS in Tamil online film enthusiast have been working out so many combinations that is very interesting. 3 Idiots in Hindi actually stood tall mainly on the riveting performances of the lead stars helped by a decent storyline. So in Tamil also it will be tough task to get the right cast.
Meanwhile Sathyaraj is said to have been onfirmed to do the immortal “Virus” professor played by Boman Irani. And for the only important female role played by Kareena Kapoor, sources say Shankar has Ileana in mind for both Tamil and Telugu versions. Some other sources say Trisha is also in the race.
As no official media announcement has come from either director Shankar or Gemini Films more and more probabilities are bound to fill the air.
Big B’s congrats for Suriya
Much before Suriya’s ‘Raktha Charithra’ would hit screens, the actor has gained immense popularity amongst B-town celebrities. The hotties and hunks of Bollywood have already expressed their views that he has a great way ahead in Hindi Film Industry.
Recently, Bollywood’s superstar Amitabh Bachchan happened to watch some of the clippings from RGV’s ‘Raktha Charithra’. Soon after the screening, Big B uttered that Suriya could be the only actor, who is more apt for this role and has done a remarkable job. Instantaneously, Big B sent an SMS to Suriya about his spellbinding show.
Well for Suriya, it’s an additional support for his debut show, which is slated to hit screens in August.
Trisha crossing skies again
Acclaimed success of ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’ has encouraged Gowtham Menon to try his experiments in Bollywood now. It’s worth mentioning that the filmmaker’s previous journey to Bollywood with ‘Rehana Hai Tere Dil Mein’ wasn’t a runaway success. But this time, Gowtham Menon is sure as shooting stars with untitled remake of ‘VTV’ starring Pratik Babbar and Trisha in lead characters.
The film will be produced by the makers of original version in collaboration with Mumbai’s purple Arts.
A.R. Rahman will be scoring music with repetitions and Manoj Paramahamsa, the made who struck with magical colors will embellish the poignant drama again in Hindi as well.
The film’s shooting kick-started this morning in Chennai with portions pertaining to Trisha being shot here.
4 Cheers For Bharath
Bharath afforded to make a great opening in Kollywood with director Shankar launching him in his own directorial followed by continuous projects produced by him (Kadhal and Veyil). Nonetheless, the actor stepped down from his epitome of success with some unapt scripts.
After his runaway success with ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, the actor had remained so careful over choosing the best scripts. Following a little gap on the course, Bharath is now building his way towards success, signing 4 different projects now.
It’s noteworthy that Bharath has almost completed shooting for Perarasu’s ‘Thiruthani’. Simultaneously, he will be filming Kumaravel’s ‘Yuvan Yuvathi’, Silambarasan starrer ‘Vaanam’ and an untitled project with Sasi.
Happy B’day Dhanush
A wonder in Kollywood – is this a right way to greet Dhanush? Of course, the young and aspiring actor has set a valuable inspiration for hundreds of wannabe actors, who have now accepted the fact – Nothing is Impossible.
Dhanush’s debut in films wasn’t preplanned and it happened at an overnight decision. Thanks to his brother Selvaraghavan for establishing him in three different dimensional attributes as an adolescent chap, a psychopath yearning for love and a deadly gangster. His ultra-contrastive delineation as a mass hero yielded him more fans and now he’s into the main league of young superstars.
Today Dhanush celebrates his birthday and it’s so cheerful to wish him for his earnest works of becoming a sweet kid of box office. The actor is filled more delightedness as he recently became the dad of a cute baby boy and has joined hands with his father and brother for a project.

Jyothi Krishna says that acting and directing is like marrying two girls
A M Rathnam has produced hit films like Indian, Mudhalvan, Ghilli and Dhool. His elder son Jyothi Krishna debuted as a story writer for the film Natpukaga. After this he directed the film Ennaku 20 Unakku 18.
Now he has become the hero in the film Oo La La. He is also directing the film. T Kalaiselvan is producing the film. The audio CD was also released recently at Kamala Theatres in Chennai. Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan released the audio CD.
Jyothi Krishna while speaking to the media said,” Oo La La is a wholesome romantic film. The story is centered on the hero and the heroines Oorvasi, Latha, Lalitha and Lavanya.
The hero faces love failure in the age of 5. The story is woven around his lover and him. Directing and acting is like marrying two girls. It is very difficult. So I have decided to do hero roles or otherwise I will direct a film which has another hero.’
Shyam becomes an action hero
Shyam has donned the role of a sensational police officer in the film Thillalangadi presented by Sun Pictures. Shyam has changed his chocolate image to action hero. While speaking to the media recently, he said,” From the films Lesa Lesa and 12B, all the roles which I did were soft. So I wanted to come out of this image.
Now Thillalangadi has changed this image. I have donned the role of a police officer. Normally all the heroes who have donned the role of a police officer have been received well by the audience. I was also received well. Though I have done the same role in the Telugu film Kick, the role I did in Tamil was something new to me. I have got the action hero image now.
I think this action stamp is required. Many have asked me about acting with another hero. Though Jayam Ravi is acting in this film, my role has significance. In Bollywood, all the films there will be two or three heroes. Even Sharukh Khan has acted with one or two heroes. Even in Tamil cinema this trend is catching up. This is a healthy trend. In Telugu after Kick I have become very popular.
Now I am acting in a film titled Hare Rama Hare Krishna which is being directed by Malli. I will also be acting in two more films. With regard to me becoming a producer, I have not become a full time producer. I am co-producing a film titled Agam Puram with Thirumalai. I am donning the role of an action hero. This film will give me another identity.
The songs have already become hits. This action film gives importance to sentiments. Meenakshi is pairing with me. Many are asking me that why I have not become a leading actor in spite of my talents. I don’t have background. If I had the background I would have produced many films and would have done the lead roles. I am little sad that I did not have the opportunity to do so.”
Dhanush’s ‘Mappillai’ in final schedule!
The young hero Dhanush who is planning to have a holiday schedule is keen on wrapping up his film ‘Uthamaputhiran’ which is shooting at fast pace in and around locations of the city. On the other hand, the hero has completed the initial schedule of his brother Selva raghavan’s new film which is on the sets.
Sources say that he have to wait for some more days to have a resting schedule as he has to work on for the final schedule of his under production latest film ‘Mappilai’ as soon as after completing his current shooting projects. The major portions of the final schedule will be shooting in Tamilnadu around places like Karaikudi and Pollachi.
Anjali signs handful
Anjali who made a modest entry with the critically acclaimed film 'Kattrathu Thamizh' opposite Jeeva became a star after 'Angadi Theru'. But in the very beginning it was Mu. Kalanjiam who spotted Anjali even before ‘Kattrathu Thamizh’ and all set to launch the terrific actress with a film titled 'Sathamintri Muthamidu'. Kalanjiam had also given a new name Sundari.
But later ‘Sathamintri Muthamidu’ was shelved and with a new name Anjali moved on to do ‘Kattrathu Thamizh’ and the rest is history. But Kalanjiam had signed Anjali for four films before the turn of fortunes happened with ‘Angadi Theru’.
Now with Anjali’s star value on the rise, Mu. Kalanjiam has decided to revive his projects. At first he will launch ‘Karungali. In which he is also launching himself as the hero. Kalanjiam hopes the presence of Anjali will give his career also a boost to take up his other films.
Magical Success of 'Puli' in Chennai
Trust us! The preorders had never happened for a Telugu album. Right from the day, the audio of ‘Puli’ was launched, the demand has been increasing and now every outlet has innumerable copies of ‘Puli’. Of course, you can witness them getting vanished from the racks within fraction of moments.
A.R. Rahman’s ‘Puli’ has Pawan Kalyan and Nikisha Patel in lead roles with SJ Suryah wielding the megaphone. From the past, the duo Suryah-A.R. Rahman has worked on great chartbusters with ‘New’ and ‘Anbe Aaruyire’.
The musical album of ‘Puli’ has some of the recent successful singers like Vijay Prakash of ‘Hosanna’ fame, Tanvi Shah of ‘Jai Ho’ crooning the tracks.
Sangithas experience with Manmadhan Ambu unit
Life’s been hectic for actress Sangitha, who has been shooting with Kamal Haasan, Madhavan and Trisha for K S Ravikumar’s Manmadhan Ambu. But the actress is bubbling with enthusiasm when she talks about her experience of working with the team.
“We shot for almost a month for the first schedule. We were rushing around like mad people, rehearsing and shooting our scenes. Though we were all abroad and sailing around in a cruise ship, work was very taxing.
But I’m definitely not complaining. It was so nice to work with veterans like Kamal sir and K S Ravikumar sir. And getting back with Madhavan and Trash (Trisha) was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it,” begins Sangitha.
Ask her about her role in the movie and she answers diplomatically, “I can’t reveal anything about my character or the film. But I can say that the audience will have an amazing time watching the film. It will be a visual treat.”
Sangitha says that the first schedule of Manmadhan Ambu was shot in several countries in Europe and each journey was an experience by itself. “Everyday, we would be in different countries, looking at different monuments that reflect their rich culture.
At the same time, we would be busy remembering our lines and thinking how to better our performances. Though Trash and I passed several malls and stores with exquisite collections, we had absolutely no time to shop!” she says.
So, how’s her equation with Trisha? “I’ve known Trash for long. The unit members would pull our legs. They would play tricks on us and try to get us to fight, but Trash and I would get together and retaliate.
There were no catfights. In fact, the two of us would help each other rememberdialogues and share tips on costume and make-up,” she reveals about their healthy relationship.
Sangitha is also excited about working with Madhavan again. “We first paired up for Evano Oruvan. Though the two of us would laugh a lot and crack jokes on the sets of Evano Oruvan, we would turn serious once we faced the camera. We didn’t even smile on screen. But this time, the two of us kept laughing and having fun. It was a riot,” she smiles.
On a serious note, she adds, “Maddy encourages and applauds his co-stars. He boosts their morale. And if working with Maddy’s a pleasure, then working with Kamal sir and Ravikumar sir is a dream. Despite being in the industry for a long time, they are so down to earth. I loved every moment of working with them.”
Giving us details on the next schedule of the film, she says, “The unit will decide the locations in another 20 days and we should be on board soon. We’ve shot almost 65 per cent of the film in the first schedule.
In fact, Kamal sir and I are almost done shooting for our parts. Only Trash and Maddy have to shoot for theirs now,” she signs off.
More trouble for Asin
The Federation of Tamil Associations of North America (FeTNA), an umbrella body of more than 30 Tamil organisations across the United States, said on Monday that it would boycott films starring Asin because of her visit to Sri Lanka.
This decision comes a day after the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) said on Sunday that a joint consultative committee would decide on the action to be taken against actors visiting Sri Lanka.
In a statement, FeTNA chief Palani Sundaram said, “The Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America will boycott films of Asin because of her visit to Sri Lanka despite a ban by the Tamil film industry.”
Meanwhile, the actress, who was in Mumbai on Monday, said she did not flout any diktat of the Nadigar Sangam as she stayed away from the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award ceremony in the island nation.
“I spoke to SIFAA president Sarath Kumar and I am ready to abide by the joint committee’s direction,” she reportedly said. The committee comprises the Film Employees Federation of India, SIFAA, Tamil Film Producers Council, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce and directors association among others.
Kavya Madhavan files divorce
Months after she came back to India after parting ways with husband Nischal Chandran, a Kuwait-based banker, Kavya Madhavan has finally filed her divorce papers at the Ernakulam family court.
If sources are to be believed, the ‘En Mana Vaanil’ and ‘Saadhu Miranda’ actress expects that she would get the divorce soon, after which she is planning to concentrate more on what she knows the best, acting in films. “She has already started acting in movies,” sources say.
They add: “Her first film after she walked out the marriage is ‘Pappi Appacha’ with Dileep which has become a super hit. She is also there in ‘Christian Brothers’, which has Mohanlal, Sarath Kumar and Dileep.”

Vijay, Simbhu and Maddy – 3 Idiots
Finally, we have the picture perfect team for Shankar’s remake of ‘3 Idiots’ with Vijay, Silambarasan and Madhavan playing lead roles.
It was unconfirmed buzz as the assumptions about star-casts remained so confidential and now we have some of the sources uncovering about the trio donning lead roles. The Telugu version will have Mahesh Babu along with Simbhu and Maddy taking on the respective roles. The professor role performed by Boman Hirani in Hindi version will go to none other than Sathyaraj.
But for a greater surprise, A.R. Rahman will not be working with Shankar as he is busy with other projects and international tour. Shankar’s second preference always goes to Harris Jayaraj as they worked together previously for ‘Anniyan’.
As of now Shankar is brimmed with his preparations for ‘Enthiran’ and the complete team will be announced soon after the release.
‘Ayan’ team with AGS Entertainment
Following the grand success of ‘Ayan’, filmmaker K.V. Anand and Suriya will coming together for a big-budgeted film produced by AGS Entertainment. What happened to be an unconfirmed buzz is finalized now as the official reports put an end to such calls on air. Yes, the most successful team of Kollywood will join hands again for a big ticket to be produced by Kalpathy Agoram of AGS Entertainment. AGS has already fetched the greatest honors of producing successful films including the recent release ‘Madharasapattinam’. With lots of biggies lined up consecutive releases including Bala’s ‘Avan Ivan’ and Mysskin’s ‘Yuddham Sei’, the producers have now signed K.V. Anand and Suriya for their next film, which will go on floors from February 2011. Rest of the crewmembers will be finalized shortly and it can assured that the duo is all set for a big bonanza in 2011.
Madhavan is Manmadhan Trisha is Ambu
The team of ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ is back after their hectic European schedule. The schedule spawned hot news like Trisha went missing in the luxury cruise and Trisha's mother is doing a cameo at the behest of Kamal and so on. But what we have got now is the story line of ‘Manmadhan Ambu’.
‘Mamadhan Ambu’ is a great situational comedy much in line with some old Kamal classics like Michael Madhana Kamarajan, Panchathanthiram etc. In ‘Manmadhan Ambu’, Kamal Haasan plays a private detective hired by Madhavan. Madhavan is in love with Trisha and before marriage Madhavan suspects Trisha's sincerity and asks Kamal who runs a private detective agency to trail her and give him good news.
In this colourful comedy Madhavan's character is called Madhan and Trisha's character is called Ambujam. Hence the title ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. Got it?
Though Sangeetha plays Kamal's jodi in the film sources say there is song in the film pictures on Kamal and Trisha.

[edit] Career
Bhatia started her acting career with a Hindi film, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra that released in early 2005, which remains her only Bollywood release till date. The same year, she debuted in the Telugu cinema as she appeared in the film Sri in which she played the leading female role opposite Manoj Kumar. In 2006, she made her debut in the Tamil film industry, starring in the film Kedi alongside Ravi Krishna and another newcomer Ileana D’Cruz. She essayed a negative role in the film, which did not do well at the box office.

Asin
Her mother, Seline Thottumkal, remains a surgeon despite moving settlements from Cochin to Chennai to Mumbai to live with her daughter. Asin has quoted that her name “means pure and without blemish”. She claims that “the ‘A’ in her name is from Sanskrit meaning “without”, and ‘Sin’ from English”.[2]
Early work, until 2004
Asin Thottumkal debuted in a supporting role in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, at the age of 15. After taking a year out to pursue her education, Asin returned with her breakthrough film as an actress, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi opposite Ravi Teja, portraying a Tamil girl in her first Telugu language film, which subsequently fetched her the Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress.[3] In the same year she won the Santosham Best Actress Award for her performance alongside Nagarjuna in her second Telugu film, Shivamani.[3] Her following two Telugu films, Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana, both portrayed Asin as the love interest for police officers, giving her two successful films, cementing her place as a leading actress in the Telugu film industry.
Asin’s first Tamil language film was M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi, in which she co-starred with Jayam Ravi. Asin reprised her role from her film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi for the remake, which saw her portraying a Malayali girl instead of the Tamil girl in the original. The movie subsequently went on to become one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema during 2004, introducing Asin to Tamil film industry.[4] After a brief return to Telugu films, to do Chakram, she appeared in Ullam Ketkumae.[5] The film, initially launched in 2002, was originally meant to be the launch for Asin as a lead actress, along with then-debutants Arya and Pooja Umashankar. The college love story, directed by Jeeva, was long-delayed but eventually became a successful venture at the box-office, creating wider opportunities for her and the rest of the lead cast.[6]
[edit] Breakthrough, 2005 – 2007
After the release of Ullam Ketkumae, Asin was cited as a leading heroine after signing films with prominent actors of the Tamil industry in Ghajini, Majaa, Sivakasi and Varalaru respectively.[7] The film which provided the breakthrough for Asin was Ghajini. The film, co-starring Surya and Nayantara and directed by A. R. Murugadoss, earned her the Tamil Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Her role was that of a vivacious young model named Kalpana. Sify.com praised her portrayal as “magical”, descriving her character as a “lovable chatterbox”, played with “sheer ability in the romantic interludes, the poignant and heartfelt scenes when she rescues minor girls from villains and her gory end are touching”.[8] The following Diwali in 2005, Asin had two releases, Sivakasi and Majaa. Despite the latter becoming an average grosser, the former went on to be a successful venture at the box office, despite Asin’s poorly etched out role.[9][10]
The following year, her long-delayed venture, Varalaru opposite Ajith Kumar, became the biggest blockbuster of 2006 in Tamil cinema. The film’s hero-centric plot retreated Asin to the sidelines, but her role was well acclaimed by critics.[11] Asin appeared in Pawan Kalyan’s Annavaram, another successful venture in which she had a poorly-etched out role.[12] In January 2007, Asin appeared opposite Ajith Kumar and Vijay in two different films, Aalwar and Pokkiri, with the latter becoming a success, whilst Aalwar became a failure. Whilst Asin’s role in Aalwar was criticized, her performance in Pokkiri was lauded by critics.[13][14] Her final project of the year was opposite in Hari’s Vel, which had a Diwali 2007 release, subsequently becoming her third successful film which released during the Diwali season in three years. Asin, who portrayed a TV anchor, was appreciated for her role in the film.[15]
[edit] Success, 2008 – present
Asin appeared in her first dual role in K. S. Ravikumar’s magnum opus Dasavathaaram opposite Kamal Haasan, who portrayed ten roles. The film, which was under production since September 2006, became Asin’s largest film till date. Despite being overshadowed by Haasan’s ten roles, Asin’s portrayal’s in the film were praised as her “best-to-date” with one of her roles being that of a Vaishnavite in the 12th century; whilst the other character was a Brahmin girl from Chidambaram.[16] Dasavathaaram subsequently went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters in South Indian film history.[17] Since establishing herself as the leading actress in South India, Asin opted to move into Bollywood, to get nationwide fame. Her first film, Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan was the remake of her breakthrough film of the same name. Upon release, the film garnered positive reactions from critics and masses alike, with Asin being singled out for her “fabulous” portray. Noted critic, Taran Adarsh describes her Hindi debut as “fabulous” and that “to share the screen space with an actor of the stature of Aamir Khan and yet remain in your memory even after the show has ended is no cakewalk. She looks fresh and photogenic and acts her part brilliantly”, giving Asin’s performance a positive outlook.[18] Asin is committed to Vipul Shah’s London Dreams alongside Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, in which she plays a member of a five-troupe band.[19][20]

Radha Mohan doesn’t care about ‘Kandahar’
In all likelihood, here comes an inspiration from ‘Kandahar Flight Hijack’ for both directors – Radha Mohan and Major Ravi. Both of them have been avidly making their own films based on the same concept.
Major Ravi’s multilingual film ‘Kandahar’ features Mohanlal in lead role along with Ganesh Venkataram and Bollywood actor Neil Nithin Mukesh in lead role and Superstar Amitabh Bachchan plays an important role. On the pars, Radha Mohan’s ‘Payanam’ will be made in Telugu titled as ‘Gangam’ with Nagarjuna in lead role. The Tamil version is titled as ‘Payanam’ and even Prakash Raj takes on an important character.
